ROBERTS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HIGHWAY SET FOR EXPANSION
President Weah set for groundbreaking ceremony of Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway.
Plans has been announced to expand the Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway to a four-lane road. According to reports, the expansion is estimated to be a 44 Kilometer as it will control the difficulty faced by the movement of vehicles on the current one lane.
Speaking during the announcement, Presidential Press Secretary Isaac Solo Kelgbeh said it is part of the President Weah plans to create more space on the lane
The lane became a priority after RIA witness a series of accidents in recent years. This has made the call for the expansion as many say it will limit the risk the current road condition poses. Especially after the death of a former Liberian Legislator, Adolph Lawrence who lost his life tragically in a motor accident on the Robertsfield-Monrovia highway.
According to Kelgbeh, the RIA road is in line with President Weah’s developmental agenda which is focused on road connectivity. The groundbreaking ceremony is set for 20th thursday 2020.
